Rialto MarketRialto Market

On the second day of your 2 days in Venice, you can start off by talking a walk across one of the oldest bridges in Venice. This bridge was built in the 14th century(1544). It includes three different pathways so that you can get three different views of the gorgeous canals and the city.

Next, visit the Rialto Market which is close by to the bridge. This place is a photographer’s paradise. The colourful atmosphere in this market reveals the true venetian culture, despite the huge amounts of buzzing crowds. This place gives a nice enjoyable moment with you partner or loved one.

Peggy Guggenheim was a lover modern art and this museum, his former palace and home has a wide collection of modern art and other interesting collections. Any art lover would die to visit this museum.

This museum is situated at he edge of the Grand Canal and you can make time to visit this place in your 2 days visit to Venice.

There are a lot of churches in Venice. The Basilica di San Marco is covered on the first day.The Church of Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari is another beautiful church and a must visit place in Venice. This church displays a combination of Venetian-Gothic architectures and it was built in the early 1200s by  Franciscan Friars.The influence of Franciscan Friars on the social life of the city makes this building on of the most renowned and religious buildings in Venice.

Some of the artworks here are  The Assumption of the Virgin” by Titian, or the “Triptych of the Madonna and Saints” by Giovanni Bellini, placed in the chapel. Another valuable work of art is the wooden statue of San Giovanni Battista by Donatello.

This is an amazing place to visit for art enthusiasts and history buffs.If time permits some of the other famous churches are the Basilica of Santa Maria della Salute, Church of Santissimo Redentore, Basilica of San Giovanni e Paolo and Church of Madonna dell’Orto.

Island Hoppingplaces to visit in Venice in 2 days

Next on the trip would be taking a Grand Canal cruise to the beautiful islands of Murano, Burano and Torcello. This is one of the top things to do in Venice in 2 days. This would be a magnificent add on to your travel. Tickets to the cruise and can be bought easily at a local vaporetto(waterbus). Just, hop on the cruise after buying the tickets.The first island will be Murano. You will be able to witness lot of talented glass-making skills and there is a church here that you can visit. It is believed that the bones of a slain dragon is buried below the church.Well, that sounds interesting!

Next, you hop on to the island of Burano. There are a lot of fishermen who reside here. You can witness many colourful houses of the fishermen and get to know their love for seafood and lacemaking. Finally, Torcello, which is quaint compared to the other islands. You can witness some beautiful Byzantine mosaics and ancient structures here. These islands are among the top things to do in Venice in 2 days.It will be a unique and beautiful experience this. Lido BeachLido beach

Venice Lido( Lido do Venezia) is an island, generally referred to as ‘the Lido’. ‘The Lido’ is a tapering strip of beach on the Venetian Lagoon and was earlier used as a seaside retreat spot. It is a popular beach and has beautiful sights to it.

It would be an amazing spot to end your journey. After all the hectic travelling in 2 days, spending the last hour or two on this beach would be like a cherry on top. There are quite a few places to see in and around ‘the Lido’. You might want to visit the Tempo Votivo Church, which is a war memorial. There is also an old Jewish Cemetery close by ‘the Lido’. If time permits, try and visit the small picturesque town of Malamocco.
