Dalhousie, another great hill station in Himachal Pradesh, was established in 1854 by the British during the colonial ages, as a summer retreat for its troops and bureaucrats. Ever since then Dalhousie has remained one of the most visited hill station in India.
Located at an altitude of 6,000 and 9,000 feet (2,700 m) above sea level on the edge of Dhauladhar mountain range of the Himalayas, Dalhousie is built on five hills. The best time to visit is the summer season and the peak or ideal time would be May to September. The Scottish and Victorian architecture still prevalent in the bungalows and churches in the town is well admired by visitors from all over the world, so you may not want to miss taking a walk around the towns of Dalhousie.
