Nestled between the snowy Alpine peaks, the city of Geneva lies in the bay where the Rhone leaves the Lake Geneva. Geneva is slick, cosmopolitan and often perceived as the Swiss capital, which it isn’t.
The city is known as the ‘capital of peace’ due to its humanitarian traditions, the European seat of the UNO and the Red Cross headquarters. Many luxury resorts and restaurants can be found on the right side of the lake while shopping and business quarters can be found on the opposite shore.
The cableway to Mont Saleve takes visitors to an elevation of 1100 meters in few minutes while making way to the jaw-dropping views of Geneva, Alpine mountain ranges, the Jura and Montblanc.
