Tour of Swiss Alps

There is no other way of saying it, we Indians love Switzerland. Switzerland has been serenading us in our movies for some time now. And it is hard not fall in love with Switzerland, with the mountains, lovely people, scenic locales and amazing chocolate! But Europe and Switzerland can be a little out of reach, in terms of budget. One way of navigating this problem is heading there in low season for tourists. That doesn’t mean Switzerland in November is any less attractive.

Let’s explore some of the best places you can visit Switzerland in November

Saas-Fee

Saas-Fee is a resort village near the Italian border. It is extremely popular with ski enthusiasts due to its proximity to many mountains which are over 4000 metres above sea level (you can really get a mini tour of the Swiss Alps here). There are tons of snow based activities you can enjoy here. Be sure to relax later at one of the numerous spas around. One of the highlights of Saas-Fee is the Ice Pavillion. It is a 70-metre-long tunnel in to the heart of the glacier which forms an ice grotto (cave) and an experience like no other.

Geneva

There couldn’t have been a better place to hash out one of the most important peace agreements in history. The views of the Alps and Jura mountains truly help you reach a state of tranquil like no other.  You could also consider spending a couple of days along Lake Geneva. In November, the eastern side of the lake, near Montreux, is a lot more attractive.

Zermatt

Located in the south western canton of Valais, Zermatt is the quintessential winter destination in Switzerland and a must if you are visiting Switzerland in November. Not only does it have, ski resorts, views of the Matterhorn and more than 350 km of skiing pistes around it, it has a very happening main street and a vibrant party scene.

Valais

Valais is also located in the canton of Valais. It too, enjoys views of the iconic Matterhorn but also of the legendary Mont Blanc. With many ski resorts in its vicinity, it is again a very attractive winter destination in Switzerland.

Tip: Although, a November Switzerland package is easy on your pocket, please make sure you check weather conditions before heading out. November is known to be a more wet and cold than snowy which could dampen your plans.
